Security Central was founded in 1963 by the husband-and-wife duo of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Brown. In the early years of Security Central, Brown performed guard style services checking secondary homes and business surrounding the newly established Lake Norman. As technology began to enter the industry, he saw an opportunity to install, service and sell burglar alarms. Transitioning away from the guard service, Brown quickly became the solution for home security in the piedmont of North Carolina. Shortly after, police departments became inundated with false alarm calls. Brown saw an opportunity and began an answering service.

Fast forward to today, Security Central is one of the largest wholesale monitoring facilities serving the United States, Canada, and surrounding U.S. territories.

Today, the company continues to flourish with the third generation of the Brown family, elevating the monitoring experience, and leading the industry with momentum.
